Cathy in Conversation with Italian therapist Pietro Barbetta.... on the topic of pain.

Key works: Pain as a taboo subject, social responses, uniqueness in repetition, looking for exceptions, the beauty and possibility of imagination.

Pietro Barbetta is a psychotherapist, the former Director of the Milan Center of Family Therapy and Professor of Psychodynamic Theories at Bergamo University, Italy. He is also works as an ethno-clinical therapist with asylum seekers and refugees, and has authored works in English, Italian, Spanish and French. His work is informed by philosophy and the works of thinkers such as Gilles Deleuze, Felix Guettari as well as the community of systemic family therapists, such as the remarkable Lynn Hoffman and Gregory Bateson. This is the second conversation about therapy that I have had to date with Pietro… hopefully there will be more to come. Happy Spring!!!
