Cheryle Henry holds a leadership position in the Orcas Society (formerly Nemo - the no name group). She has helped organize therapy trainings on Vancouver Island for teachers such as Michael White (Narrative therapy), Imelda McCarthy and Nolag Byrne (the Fifth Province of Ireland), Andrew Turnell (Signs of Safety, Australia), Insoo Kim Berg (Solution-focused therapy). Cheryle is an avid supporter of Response-Based Practice and lives in the teachings of her mother, her grandmother and Indigenous spirituality, including sundance. Cheryle was the couples’ therapist (the Love Guru) for the Islands of Safety project in the Cowichan Valley. Cheryle talks about Strong-Spiritedness and her life path that brought her to assist others in relation to well-being, life transition, head injury, difference-based ability and special needs. Cheryle has recently retired and spends time with her children and grandchildren as a family matriarch. Her teachings centre on compassion, mindful attention to how we humans manage our energy and what we decide to project into the world. She is dedicated to love and care of all human beings saying “everyone has a story”.
